Ever since I knew Shawn, he had seldom managed a lie because he was just too lousy at that (lucky for me). However, that means that I could almost always guess what he was up to, including surprises. Same goes for this year's V day. Knew something was going on but I did not probe since I wanted to enjoy the suspense but he just had to hint 2 of my 3 gifts... *roll eyes*
Surprise #1 - 13th Feb From our conversation regarding appropriate attire for our date, I thought we would be going to a musical. My guess was pretty close as we went to GV Gold Class which I had never been. :)
The seats were really comfy and our package came with lunch and champagne. I strongly advise to skip food and wine though. Eating in the dark was not enjoyable and obvious reason for the wine.
Surprise #2 - 14 Feb Knew he wanted to prepare dinner for me because he was on leave and he had always wanted to cook for me. I had the yummiest pumpkin soup, fave arugula salad with herb grilled chicken waiting that evening.
Something for him - 4 Mar Shawn has always been 'complaining' that he don't get surprises from me so while he was away on his biz trip, I decided to surprise him with his long awaited Lion King musical! I must say I'm quite an actress. He didn't suspect anything and it was only when we were running late for our 'fake' movie at Marina Square and he wanted to skip shopping at MBS that I unveiled the surprise.
He enjoyed Lion King so much, he wanted to bring Rachel. I thought Zoo would be a better place.
Surprise #3 - 19 Mar It was just one of the weekends where we would drop Rachel off and have some time to ourselves. He suggested lunch in town and lunch was in my dream restaurant where he already made reservation!! Best lunch ever! Shall post photos later...
